Not Your Typical Water Dog

She isn’t your typical “water dog” but does she ever have fun jumping off the kayak’s bow into the lake, and then shaking all over one of us!

There must be a tiny Labrador gene in her somewhere!

When we rescued her, little did we know we’d have an avid kayaker joining our family.

A Celebration of 50 Years of Marriage

D and E look at her original wedding band, now too thin to wear, but a perfect addition to her charm bracelet of life’s special memories.

For you see, each day I love you more today…

more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.  ~Rosemonde Gerard

her wedding veil,

and her wedding pearls,

chosen by her mother, and given to her as a gift from her groom.

A hundred hearts would be too few to carry all my love for you.

D and E in their beautiful yard …a special place

that holds wonderful memories of family and friends gathering together.

Every love story is beautiful, but OURS is my favorite.

How happy! How blessed! How thankful!

The roses they hold are from a special rose bush in their yard.

What a wonderful memory it is that D’s mother went along with him and E to select this rose color.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream!

God’s blessings, dear D and E!

I pray that you always know God’s love and care for you.

I pray that He gives you many more happy years together!

I pray that wherever you make your home, God is the center of it.

You are an inspiration to all who know you and love you dearly.

Friendship

Friends. Spouses. Soulmates.

She walked over to Him and asked,

“Do you remember what we were doing 66 years ago about this time?”

He answered with a sweet smile, “I do.”

She replied, “And I still do.”

Friendship. It all began with a small town, street-corner meeting.

It continued through snail mail during World War II.

It grew and blossomed after the war.

It was cemented in their marriage vows.

This friendship is for better and for worse.

She and He have come to know the true meaning of that.

This is my entry for the I Heart Faces Friendship Photo Challenge this week.

Chloe, Betty, & Her HS Friend

This clever saying was stitched onto a needlepoint pillow in Betty’s home:

“A dog has a master. A cat has a staff.”

So true!

I captured these snapshots last week when I visited Betty, who is healing well from a broken hip and surgery, and her H.S. friend.  Thank You, Lord.

Betty and her cat, Chloe, are true besties! They adore one another.

I truly think each is a “staff person/staff furson” for the other.

December Debutante

Dreamy…Creamy… A few captures of baby Willow, just two weeks old, so fresh, soft, and sweet.

Willow with her two very happy, proud, and thankful grandmas — Grandma Linda and Grandma Sandy ADORE her! Willow, you are indeed a heaven-sent gift!

Here’s Willow in a little Christmas red… While Mommy was at a meeting, I captured this special Daddy & Willow love!

I Heart Faces — “Hands-On Fun”

I chose to enter this photo I took of my parents’ hands on the day we celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary last April. Dad and Mom were married after Dad returned home from World War II. They’ve held hands ever since, in work and play, in hardships and in fun times, and have been great examples of “servant hands”  to all around them.

This one’s for you, Mom and Dad!
