Two little blessings sent from above … twice the smiles, twice the LOVE!
Can you tell this family loves all things STL Blues and Disney?
Two little blessings sent from above … twice the smiles, twice the LOVE!
Can you tell this family loves all things STL Blues and Disney?
Big sister and brother meet their newborn sister and are all smiles and cuddles!
These two are going to be both entertainers and protectors of her.
They loved on her and counted all her toes and fingers too!
“Pregnancy is getting company inside one’s skin …” and for these parents, it’s times TWO!
Two great joys are coming soon, and their grand family adventure is about to begin!
I’m so excited, happy and thankful for these sweet parents and so grateful that they included me in documenting their expectant-parent journey!
I can’t wait to hear about their Double Delivery!
“Giving birth and being born brings us into the essence of creation, where the human spirit is courageous and bold and the body, a miracle of wisdom.”
“You are pregnant and you are powerful. You are bold and you are beautiful. Go forward in your boldness, in your beauty and in your contentedness. Trust your body to birth and know that the collective power of women worldwide will be with you.”
“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new…and so in you the child, your mother lives on, and through your family continues to live… so at this time look after yourself and your family as you would your mother for through you all she will truly never die.”
“To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and distressingly inhabited. Soul and spirit are stretched – along with body – making pregnancy a time of transition, growth, and profound beginnings.”
“Before you were conceived I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were here an hour I would die for you. This is the miracle of Mother’s Love.” – Maureen Hawkins
“In giving birth to our babies, we may find that we give birth to new possibilities within ourselves.” –Myla and Jon Kabat-Zinn
“A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten and the future worth living for.”
I’m grateful to have captured these fun and precious moments in the park for this family who will soon meet their child #3!
“I love you, Daddy,” in his own words and writing. Look at that pencil-holding form! And his serious focus on his task! What a memory to preserve! He’s the little guy who drops what he’s doing to run to the door and hug Daddy’s legs when he gets home from work. Who could ask for anything more?
This is a sample of my lifestyle (aka “follow the child while he/she plays for precious captures”) photography.
It was a gorgeous afternoon in the park when I was privileged to capture the extended B family’s photos! We had fun talking about their holiday traditions and between posings, they laughed and tickled each other and made this session so much fun! Great Grandma, grandparents, siblings, and cousins got to be included in photos — something they had not had for quite a few years. God’s blessings to the B Family for wonderful holidays ahead!
Autumn is a favorite time of year to capture children’s photos amid the gorgeous Fall glowing leaf and sky colors!
Being able to document these children and their sweet personalities is pure joy. Each one is so different, so caring and kind, so special! They have great parents and are so blessed in many ways! I feel blessed to know them and see them often!
Who doesn’t like weaving spider webs for plastic spiders?
Or scraping the guts out of a pumpkin and saving the slimy seeds to roast?
Just a couple “lifestyle photos” in my Fall Family season collection! Super Fall Fun!
Her great aunt wore this organza slip and dress as a flower girl about 70 years ago. She asked that I photograph her grand-niece wearing it, and this is just one of many captures as she played on her bed.
My style is simply to follow a child as he/she plays and capture the memories!
Sweet P phoned her cousins to ask them to come to her tea party. She was so excited!
Among her guests were Chloe Bunny, Barney Cabbage Patch, Benedict Bunny, and Piglet.
No one minded that this Two served tea and cookies in her pink and white slips.
A good time was had by all!
It’s easier to tolerate winter when the sun shines and when you have a dog to walk!
“A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!”
These two with their O’Pa at a favorite pond are simply happy to be casting and reeling and catching little biters.
Today is All Saints’ Day on the Christian church calendar. It’s a day to celebrate those sinner-saints who have gone before us to their heavenly rest.
During this beautiful Autumn season I’ve spent some time walking and photographing in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St Louis, MO, not far from where we live.
When my parents moved from Ohio to the St Louis area in early 2015, they changed their plans so that this national cemetery would be their final resting place.
Our dad is now at perfect peace and has been committed to JBNC since his recent passing from this earth. It’s a sad/happy time for us. Sad because we miss him so much–almost daily visiting, laughing, eating ice cream together, singing and listening to polka music, hearing his great stories about family and World War II and travel experiences and more.
We’re happy and comforted to know that we’ll see him in heaven someday, because we believe Jesus’ promise that’s written in John 11:25-26: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”
God blessed Dad with almost 95 years of life on this earth, with a beautiful and loving bride of 70 years plus, and with a caring family and many friends. For all this, we’re so thankful.
See you later, Dad.
“In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song.”
“For every sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live!”
Little sister brought her baby brother her favorite book—The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle–and he was completely mesmerized by it, as you can see!
The cocoon and hat were crocheted by Lake Effect Creations. You can find her Etsy shop online at etsy.com
Isn’t he adorable in it? A beautiful creation in God’s world!
The sun began to set.
And then she flew.
These are a few of my favorite things!
Eyelashes. Ears. Fingers. Toes. Baby skin.
Tiny noses, lips, and chins.
What a precious miracle he is!
Parenting isn’t “a walk in the park”! But this daddy makes it look easy as he and little one reach for each other’s hand and walk on a mild winter afternoon.
So little. So big. Looking up. Looking down. Reaching up. Reaching down. So trusting. So giving.
It’s great to see a father’s love and a daughter’s trust. May it grow and grow, bloom and blossom!
We made a wish, and you came true.
Once you’re parents, your marriage matters more, not less, because someone special is counting on you.
“Babies are such a nice way to start people.”
― Don Herold
I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day. When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May. Well, I guess you’ll say what can make me feel this way? My girl!
First we had each other. Then we had you. Now we have everything!
Chickens make wonderful pets.
Chickens help teach responsibility with daily feeding and watering chores.
Chickens provide bonus surprises — eggs! Healthy eating!
Here’s my favorite chicken whisperer with her sweet “Cocoa.” I wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t have doll clothes on Cocoa sometime soon. Maybe she’ll even push her in a doll stroller. Cocoa would love that!
It was a great day at the park with this family of three, and the bonus was that the rain held off until we were done capturing many special moments.
Seven months old is a magical age! Baby P was fascinated with the ducks and people paddling on the pond. She challenged us to keep her on her special quilt made by her grandma.
Love the love that was bubbling over during this session!
A fun family + a beautiful day + a country setting = a GREAT time “shooting” this family!
These parents and their teens were a joy to capture and though we had just met, they were naturals and we had fun together. I loved how they coordinated their colors to brighten the country landscape and the rustic settings.
The H Family chose to have their photos taken near a very special, old tree in their neighborhood complete with the wooden wagon and the biggest rope and wooden swing I’ve ever seen. Can you imagine how high that swing might go?
When they asked if I’d shoot them as they held their guns, I knew I’d be safe with them!
This fun-loving couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in September … this would make a great celebration spot with wine, cheese and crackers, and moonlight!
Aren’t they the cutest? I love their bright blue eyes and happy smiles!
The country setting and great light made me grateful for this beautiful afternoon shoot … I’m glad they left this old stump in the yard!
We ended their family “shoot” by including their beautiful Labs — these guys are all brothers and couldn’t have been sweeter to pose for this shot. I hope they got some good treats! This would make one great canvas wall art for their home. What a pleasure it was to meet this family and capture some special moments for their memory albums and wall frames. One may even become their Christmas photo for 2014!
Thank you to the H Family for purchasing my photography gift certificate at the Silent Auction, and for supporting our Heart for Honduras mission trip! I was blessed in many ways, especially by going as part of the mission team and by meeting and photographing your dear family.
She isn’t your typical “water dog” but does she ever have fun jumping off the kayak’s bow into the lake, and then shaking all over one of us!
There must be a tiny Labrador gene in her somewhere!
When we rescued her, little did we know we’d have an avid kayaker joining our family.
When J and K asked me to capture their family’s lifestyle photos on their farm, I was excited to meet them. A day of thunderstorms almost thwarted our efforts. But late in the evening, a rainbow appeared over the soy bean fields, and the sky cleared for us to meet on their farm. I said a thank-You prayer. What a beautiful location!
I was in photographer’s heaven on earth to see all the colorful sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, gladiolas, marigolds, and sweet peas K had planted in addition to his corn and bean crops. I gasped when I saw the beautiful old barn wood, pallets, stone piles, and tractors to include in backgrounds. What fun we had moving from one spot to the next!
But most important, what a loving, caring family I was blessed to meet and get to know for a couple hours. How many parents have teens and pre-teens who beg to have their photos taken with their parents and never tire of the directions and suggestions? In fact, they had their own awesome suggestions for me to include in their photos.
This evening was above awesome! Take a look and see!
A natural “frame” for dad and mom! And how about that girl power?
Kudos to these parents! Their kiddos showed so much love and respect.
They definitely mimic what they see and hear.
Awww! One of my many favorites. Dear Daughter’s expression makes me giggle.
A hardworking TEAM B!
I didn’t bring tool props. They are REAL and we didn’t look far for them.
The wildflower garden by their country home.
The brick walkway and arbor that K built, leading to their home’s front door.
These kids don’t just love each other. They LIKE each other too.
The B Family and kitty Eenie. They told me an eagle nests in the woods behind them.
We didn’t see it on this evening though.
This father’s love for his daughter is amazing to see. So protective.
The guys enjoy their hobbies!
Eenie gets a lot of love from her sweet and spunky friend! Oh does she have beautiful eyes too. Eenie’s friend, I mean!
Aren’t those denims drying on the clothesline the best?!
And the textures on this farm just made me over the top happy.
Dear Daughter — I love how her initials had been painted on the barn by the previous farm owners.
Had to gobble up that opportunity for a perfect background for her!
Now you see how much FUN I had with the B Family!
It was a blessing to be with you all. Let’s do it again sometime!
This sweet family welcomed their second daughter into the world just a few days after I captured these photos for them in a nearby park.
Lilly looks forward to sharing her beanie animals with her baby sister Abby.
Big sister Lilly was excited because she got to choose Little Sister’s shoes for some of the photos.

Happy 50th wedding anniversary to this fun and loving couple!
Live. Love. Dance.
The original wedding party peeps came to celebrate!
And so did their 18 grandchildren (though missing one on this day) … showing some love …
and some more LOVE in their family circles of children and grandchildren … here’s one of those “Ewww, they’re KISSing!” moments captured! Yes, grandparents still kiss!
Backyard tables were tented and beautiful decorated with floral arrangements and “word” stones to capture the sentiments of the celebration …
H and MS, thank you for the opportunity to capture moments during your family’s celebration! God’s blessings for many more happy, healthy, and fun years together!
The G Family met me at the neighborhood park for some play time. Their youngest son just turned six months old and he used his core strength to sit well for the very first time without toppling over! Big brother (14) adores his little brother and was so helpful in keeping him happy by blowing bubbles and supplying him with colorful props!
Look at little B’s beautiful eyes and eyelashes! His bright personality shined through the whole morning!
I love to capture photos of a family having fun — they got some tickle time!
We took a break and got out the St. Louis’ famous Fitz’s Root Beer, complete with old fashioned striped paper straws decorated with bow ties for the guys and a girly pink bow for mom! How cute is little B with his bow-tied sippy cup!
What a handsome dad and son combo!
Happy Father’s Day to this very special dad!
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
1 John 3:1
There are SO many quotes about love.
My favorite is “Love is a VERB.”
I pray that this dear couple experiences much love as they prepare to make a life together through marriage and family.
I pray that their third “cord” in their relationship as husband and wife is Jesus Christ, the One who demonstrates perfect love and forgiveness to us all.
I wish you much happiness, D and B!
