Southern Missouri Sights

Blue blue skies … layers of cloud formations … Route 66 Diner … what’s not to like on a roadtrip in southern Missouri?

A Christmas Reunion

What a surprise it was to have friends and caregivers from 500 miles away visit on Christmas day!

The smiles say it all!

Thank you, Lord, for such special peeps!

Christmas Tradition

A favorite Christmas tradition is to wrap the kiddos up in strings of Christmas lights for photos!

The unposed, fun, casual shots are always my favorite!

A Fun Couple

Though I consider myself a nature and landscape photographer, I’m always happy to capture people for special occasions and just in everyday life too!

Here’s a fun couple who laugh a lot and show their joy for living, hug trees and love the outdoors. They decided to use some of these captures for their 2018 Christmas card! I’m honored to be their photographer and friend!

We caught some pretty afternoon sunlight over the hills at the park!

The Horses of Suson

Not far from our house is a beautiful county park where the rangers care for longhorn cattle, chickens, pigs, peacocks, geese, and these beautiful horses.

We often go to the park’s playground to have an afternoon playtime and a picnic lunch.

On this winter afternoon, the sunlight cast a glow on the horses as they ate their hay from the manger.

God’s creatures are so magnificent!

Branson Christmas Decor

The quaint city of Branson, Missouri has much to see apart from all the musical theaters and museums!

We visited Silver Dollar City to see all the lights, and got to see the beautiful gingerbread houses created by the chefs at The Chateau! Each was more intricate than the previous one! These gave me great ideas to use in the future as we build our traditional Christmas gingerbread creations!

The concierge was so kind to take our photo in the Chateau’s lobby — it was totally a Christmas wonderland!

Holiday Happenings

It isn’t often that Great-Uncle Bill comes to visit our St. Louis area family, so we gather our kids and grands and do special things together. We made him some Pfefferneusse (pepper nuts) cookies that he enjoys (a very old German tradition through his family) and we went to eat a chicken dinner and see the pretty Christmas decorations at a favorite local homestyle restaurant. Come back soon, Bill, and we’ll go kayaking if the rivers aren’t flooded!
